Salary and Benefits: $600/ Week; Room and Board 

Program Length / Dates: Summer 2017, 2-3 Weeks (one week of on-site training; see specific program dates below)

 

Summary

Live on a beautiful college campus this summer and help make a difference in the lives of gifted high school students from around the world. We specialize in college readiness and for that reason our national Pre-College Summer Program provides students with a one-of-a-kind, supportive and substantive learning opportunity. College Prep Instructors teach for a maximum of 2 hours a day, 4 days a week- in addition to leading, facilitating and guiding a day full day of College and Career Readiness. College Prep Instructors also live in residence halls alongside the students and participate in fun, non-academic activities after class and on the weekends. Job Purpose:

Organize classroom activities and offer a positive academic experience with the purpose of preparing high school students for college, at Blueprint’s designated locations (see specific program dates and locations below).

Essential Duties:

  • Provide a fun, distinctive and intensive educational course in a dynamic college setting
  • Teach Blueprint’s college-prep curriculum while providing a comfortable and personal classroom environment that helps students prepare for college
  • Provide high school students with appropriate support, knowledge and encouragement to reach future goals.
  • Facilitate and execute full day college and career readiness session(s)
  • Plan and execute all day-to-day class functions
  • Maintain a positive, professional on-campus presence at all times
  • Assist in supervising non-academic activities and providing general program/office administrative support
  • Assist in supervising all on-campus and off-campus activities, including student special events and road trips
  • Implement all program rules, procedures and safety guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience
  • Thorough understanding of the college admissions process
  • Previous involvement in student organizations, career advising and/or academic administration
  • Must be able to travel to and from designated Blueprint Summer Program location
